At NCRPA we embrace collaboration. We invite everyone to work side by side to strengthen the parks and recreation profession and impact North Carolina communities.

Welcome to NCRPA!

Hurricane Helene Relief

Now, more than ever, our community needs the support of people who deeply care about our parks and make them function. While many of the state and local parks need restoration and repair, the immediate need lies with our most precious resource, the parks and recreation staff

NC Friends of State Parks (FSP) and the NC Recreation & Park Association (NCRPA) are partnering to support park and recreation professionals in Western NC who have been displaced by the impacts of Hurricane Helene.

We invite you to stand with us in supporting them. Every donation will go directly to those identified as displaced and in immediate need, with 100% of contributions shared equally among them.

Please consider donating to help those who provide recreational opportunities year-round and step up in times of crisis, often taking on roles such as debris removal, shelter operations, distribution center operations, emergency law enforcement and medical support, search and rescue, and providing child care services.

Once the immediate needs of staff are met, our focus will shift to restoring and reviving our parks.

Friends of State Parks is a statewide nonprofit organization based in Bethania and the NC Recreation & Park Association is a Raleigh-based nonprofit. Both organizations are dedicated to supporting parks and recreation in our state. Donations are tax-deductible as allowed by law.

Member Spotlight

For over 20 years, my involvement with NCRPA has enabled me to connect with other  Parks and Recreation departments.  NCRPA provides me with timely updates and information on legislative changes, grant opportunities, and valuable information from attending the conference and workshops.  NCRPA is a great organization to join.
