Established in 1973, the NC Recreation and Parks Scholarship Foundation offers financial support through scholarships to eligible students pursuing education for careers in the recreation and parks industry and to professionals seeking further education through professional development. The foundation prioritizes areas of educational focus such as municipal and county recreation, local and state parks, therapeutic recreation, and forestry, among others.

In 2023, the Scholarship Foundation awarded $26,000 in scholarships to students and professionals in NC

Meet The Board

The NC Recreation & Parks Foundation scholarship helped me immensely with funding part of my senior year as a Parks, Recreation, and Tourism Student. I was able to apply to full-time jobs with the extra time not spent on working, and secured a full-time position with the City of Raleigh as the Assistant Director at Lake Lynn Community Center. Thank you for the opportunity to be able to spend more time on my studies, and be supported by the Foundation!
