There are a number of scholarships and professional development grants available every year. We encourage you to apply with a thorough application. These opportunities can help you to further your professional development
NC Recreation & Parks Scholarship Foundation: In addition to providing scholarships for undergraduate and graduate students, the Foundation offers three professional development scholarships to NCRPA members:

Jan Parker NRPA Scholarship provides a $2000 scholarship to attend the NRPA Conference.

NCRPA New Professional Conference Scholarship provides up to $600 and a complimentary conference registration for the NCRPA Conference.

Professional Development Grant can be used for accredited, professional parks and recreation schools, symposiums, conferences and other training opportunities that offer continuing education units such as opportunities offered by NRPA and NCRPA.
National Recreation & Park Association: These scholarships and fellowships provide recipients with the opportunity to attend the NRPA Conference. Recipients receive a complimentary NRPA Conference registration and a travel stipend. Learn More.
American Parks & Recreation Foundation: sponsors scholarships to cover the tuition for students to attend NRPA’s Supervisors Management School, Revenue Development & Management School, and Director’s School. Learn More.
American Academy For Park and Recreation Administration: offers an Externship Program that enables young professionals 35 years of age and younger in the parks and recreation field to interact with and learn from American Academy for Park and Recreation Administration members, and other individuals who attend the NRPA Conference and its associated meetings. Park and Recreation Maintenance Management School: A comprehensive two-year professional development program designed to teach park and recreation professionals how to develop and manage a wide variety of maintenance programs. Learn More.
Civic Local Foundation: If you are a Civic member and a local government employee in North Carolina, you’re eligible to apply for a scholarship to help cover the cost of tuition for conferences, classes and seminars offered by the UNC School of Government. Learn More.
